Summary

About the Position: Works under the general supervision of the Chief, Pharmacy Service. Individual has a developed expertise in outpatient pharmacy and is responsible for planning and carrying out assignments; resolving most drug problems which arise; coordinating the work with other pharmacy personnel and medical departments and staff, as necessary; and interpreting pharmacy policy on own initiative in terms of established objectives. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation



Duties
  • Responsible for compounding and dispensing between prescriptions daily.
  • Dispenses a variety of drugs and pharmaceuticals.
  • Recommend alternate drugs when the ones prescribed are not in stock.
  • Evaluate the prescribed dose to ensure it is within the appropriate dose range for that particular medication and individual patient.
  • Ensure that all medications are requisitioned as needed and that sufficient quantities of high volume or seasonal drugs are maintained in stock.
