Job Summary and Qualifications

The Monitor Tech assists the nurse and/or physician in providing support to the unit as assigned and supervised by the nurse. This care must be consistent with the vision and philosophy of Patient Care Services at Memorial Health. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to: monitor surveillance and documentation of cardiac rhythms, communication of patient needs to the appropriate caregiver.

What you will do in this role:

  • Monitor and document cardiac rhythms according to policy.
  • Comprehend use of Telemetry Monitoring Devices and telemetry transmitters and efficiently operates them.
  • Properly admits/discharges patients from monitoring system
  • Maintains accurate telemetry transmitter monitor log books.
  • Make accurate measurements of EKG of intervals and complexes, interpret rhythms correctly and record strips for rhythm changes
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Prior healthcare experience required
