American Express Meetings & Events is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst who has a passion for analyzing data, building dashboards and creating visualizations in Domo. The overall objective of this position is to provide a high level of customer service and business intelligence and insights reporting for one or more of our strategic global clients. This includes interaction with various levels of client and internal Meetings & Events management and performing tasks aimed at the development, retention, and expansion of the global client relationship.

This role is responsible for supporting a client within the meetings and events team, with the delivery of BI reporting of their meetings activity. The ideal candidate must have a combination of technical skills mixed with excellent communication skills to work consultatively with clients. They will design and create customized reports and dashboards that include best practices for data visualizations while also embodying creativity and accuracy; analyze data to identify issues, trends, and opportunities; and work directly with clients to make recommendations to support their business needs.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborates with end-users in the design of custom Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards, metrics, and reports and executes the development.
  • Translates business requirements into detailed technical design and programming specifications
  • Documents all report-related activities including user requests, report specification, development, modification, testing, and ongoing production support.
  • Researches and conducts data analysis as well as makes recommendations in support of resolution of issues
  • Applies generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic and data manipulation
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees
  • Adept at blending, normalizing, and analyzing multiple and extensive data sets to yield reportable and meaningful data
  • Proven ability to synthesize information and identify key trends, insights, and actionable recommendations to clients that can support business decision needs

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum two years of hands-on experience working with enterprise data visualization tools (i.e., Domo, Tableau, Power BI, SAP BI, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree with technology focus or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite of tools; Access and Excel are required
  • Understanding of relational databases and demonstrated proficiency in query writing
  • Experience troubleshooting and writing VBA code
  • Proficient in database design; specifically Microsoft Access tables, queries, reports, macros, and forms
  • Client facing experience a plus
  • ETL experience a plus
  • Knowledge of the meetings and events industry is preferred, willingness to learn required
  • Customer and service-oriented mindset
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to handle numerous responsibilities with little direction
  • Comfortable with an environment where priorities change frequently

Location

United States

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $46,000 to $93,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
