The Financial Analyst position as Lands' End demands a level of both technical competency and interpersonal skills. A successful individual in this role will provide analysis, assimilate data effectively and partner with the business operational team to offer pragmatic financial solutions to various business issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide variance analysis and determine cause of change. Scope includes the P&L, monthly actuals, plan and forecast and monthly reporting and analysis, monthly actual package, monthly forecast package, overall monthly financial package, annual operating plan, strategic plan processes
  • Present financial analysis and recommendations to your team and manager to help inform business decisions
  • Perform reconciliations needed as a basis for financial analysis
  • Identify and help to develop and implement financial process improvements to drive consistency and standardization to streamline workflow and decision making
  • Provide financial modeling and analytic support
  • Support the Corporate FP&A team's forecast calendar through alignment with the forecasting calendar and support processes
  • Organize data from the company's various data-base repositories to create/refresh financial models
  • Drive enhancements in financial reporting and analysis as well as requisite system requirements

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years in a related financial analyst role
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Demonstrated financial experience including budgeting, forecasting, planning, analysis, and building financial models.
  • Demonstrated strong financial analysis skills
  • Self-motivated team player with strong ability work autonomously
  • Good organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; comfortable communicating with and helping to influence various levels of management
  • Excellent drive for results and complex problems solving skills coupled with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Advanced Excel skills (including: Subtotaling, Filtering, Data Sort, LookUp Tables, Pivot Tables, Charting) and other MS office applications; ability to model business requirements and prepare "what-if" analysis
