About the location:
Laid-back sophistication on the Southern California Coast. Tucked between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains sits our iconic Resort, a historic hideaway on the American Riviera where celebrities come to play. Set within 22 lush acres, woven with secluded courtyards, fountains and sun-dappled, red-brick pathways lit by gas lanterns, our Spanish Colonial villas and bungalows invoke the same casual glamour that first delighted Hollywood's power players in the 1930s.

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic leader to join our team as the Laundry Manager for a newly rebuilt facility with new laundry and valet equipment in a beautifully renovated space.

What you will do

Oversees the Laundry Operation within Housekeeping , which includes, but is not limited to, the following:
  • Manages the staff of the Laundry/Valet Department. Interviews, trains and schedules the staff. Conducts Performance Evaluations and counseling staff when needed.
  • Ensures all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms .
  • Assures that all Guest Clothing and Employees Uniforms are cleaned on a timely basis and in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Ensures communication and fluid operations with our off-site partners including satisfactory productivity levels.
  • Conducts orientation & tracks training of new employees , insuring assimilation of company policies, company service standards , laundry procedures, and demonstrat ing use and maintenance of equipment , including safe ly operating those machines as well as proper chemical knowledge and use.
  • Ensures communications and follow-up on any problems, guest requests or special requirements .
  • Develops daily productions schedules, assesses priorities for each type of linen that needs to be laundered. Assigns staff to complete the needed activities for the day. Monitors staff's activities to assure that standards are being met, staff is being supported and guest needs are being met.
  • Resolves customer complaints, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible. Responds to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner. Interaction with guest will be in person and by phone.
  • Assures the financial goals of the department are being met. Monitors and controls labor expense and other divisional expenses such as supply and maintenance costs. Coordinates periodic Linen, Uniform and Supplies Inventories. Recommends appropriate actions on results of inventory.
  • Takes action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction and well-being of hotel guests and employees. Responds swiftly and effectively in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • Monitors and ensures equipment and machines are well maintained and properly handled by staff.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
What you bring
  • The employee will be responsible for obtaining or will currently hold proper work authorization for the country in which the position is located.
  • Previous Housekeeping and Laundry experience preferred.
