SAIC's National Intelligence Community (NIC) Business Unit, USG Mission and Information Technology Division, provides solutions and services supporting digital modernization programs in areas such as systems engineering, multi-cloud computing, cybersecurity, data science and analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, quantum computing, application development, SecDevOps, cloud network operations, and secure communications.

We are seeking highly motivated Technical Writers (TW) to join our team and be responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of programmatic documentation, including Program Management Plan (PMP), Program Acquisition Strategy (PAS), Operational Capabilities Statement (OCS) / Statement of Capability (SOC), Functional Requirements Document (FRD), Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), Systems Engineering Plan (SEP), Program Protection Plan (PPP), Cybersecurity Strategy (CSS), and Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP).

Responsibilities will vary based on skill level:

Writing and editing programmatic documentation using approved Government templates and formatsAssisting in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals, and technical publicationsGathering technical information and preparing written textMaintaining a current internal documentation libraryUsing multiple word processing and presentation tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.Working with developers to produce quality documentation and training materialsCoordinating layout and design of documentsResearching highly technical subject matter, organizing information from multiples sources, and expressing technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readersApplying concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts (SMEs), and other available sourcesInterpreting engineering and maintenance drawings, and operational procedures to understand and blend large quantities of computer related informationProviding expert oversight of technical writing and editing to all phases of acquisition and technical documentation for the program, project, or contractActing as project leader for projects with complex or voluminous documentation and may provide or coordinate special documentation services, as requiredReviewing work products of others for compliance with technical manual NSA Data Standard (DS)-89

Qualifications

Qualifications will vary based on skill level:

Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required for all skill levelsTYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 3 + Years with BA 1 + Years with MBAExperience producing defense acquisition documentation, user manuals, training manuals, and other documentation utilized by the end-user community of DoD electronic equipment and systemsExperience producing technical documentation for Cryptologic programs or projects developing analytic tradecraft methodologiesExperience applying technical manual standard NSA DS-89 to work productsAbility to work independently, and prepare and maintain highly complex systems, programming and operations documentation, procedures, and methodsAbility to prepare reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiencesUnderstanding basic grammar concepts SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
