Description
Greenville University seeks a full time Assistant/Associate Professor to join the Psychology Department to start in August 2024. This new faculty member will be able to teach in both the on-campus and online degree programs. Area of specialty is open, but ability to teach a range of courses is required, which may include Statistics, Research Methods, Human Development courses, and Neuroscience. The selected candidate must provide evidence of a vibrant Christian faith, clearly understand and internalize the mission of Greenville University, and articulate the value of Christian higher education. As a faculty member, the selected candidate will teach departmental courses, advise students, advance the curriculum of the Psychology program, participate in departmental and university committee assignments, and other activities to advance the mission of Greenville University.
Essential functions of this position:
Teach 12-13 credits per fall and spring semesters.
Operate computer technologies relevant to the institution for in-person and online courses.
Supervise and advise students.
Perform University service including committee work as assigned.
Participate in professional development including grant-writing and research activities.
Assist with recruiting and marketing activities to recruit and retain students.
Commit to the development and execution of experiential learning opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited university.
Evidence of quality teaching at collegiate level, both in-person and online.
Be open to instruction and utilize best practices for instruction.
Possess excellent people skills.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Supervisory experience, especially in an academic setting.
