A DAY IN THE LIFE

As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
  • Be an integral part of our safety culture, approaching all aspects of work with a safety-first attitude.
  • Establish and lead the project team by identifying internal and external resources, including external subcontractor(s) as needed.
  • Ensure excellence in technical aspects of the project including planning, design execution, Safety-in-Design, external vendor relationships, communications, resource management, project schedule/scope/budget, and quality control.
  • Prepare detailed designs, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates. More specific responsibilities include establishing appropriate design methods, conducting engineering and process design, equipment sizing and selection, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, and design deliverable preparation.
  • Direct the execution of design projects and mentor junior engineering staff.
  • Learn and understand the highly technical product that we are delivering to our customers.
  • Perform engineering calculations for piping systems, pump selection, heat transfer and treatment process optimization.
  • Strive for the development of reliable, effective and safe products that have an impact on the emerging contaminant marketplace.
  • Identifies technical issues and approaches for evaluation.
  • Perform construction, fabrication and start-up oversite with our partner fabrication shops and customers' contractors; sees their design vision through to completion and function.
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance tests and ensures designs are compliant with the clients' technical requirements and budget(s).
  • Assist in marketing business opportunities with key clients and development of responses to RFP/RFQs.
  • Serve as a key client contact tasked with building and maintaining client relations with both internal and external clients coupled with the development of new clients.
  • Assist or leads projects as a client lead and or/project manager.
  • Travels to the project site to conduct project-related tasks; provides timely responses to managers and clients on project tasks (domestic and international travel up to 20%).
  • Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.
  • Participate in Company's continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.
  • Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil and Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering from an accredited university
  • 10+ years of engineering-related experience in water treatment, biogas or natural gas
  • Professional Engineering Registration or willingness to obtain one
  • Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills, including a demonstrated ability to lead multi-discipline teams and motivate others
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Solid time/project management skills
  • Able to handle multiple assignments.
  • Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, SCADA, structural and architectural discipline along with working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Able to work independently manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated)
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, Google and/or PC programs
