ELC Director

WBZ-TV/WSBK-TV/CBSN in Boston is currently seeking a skilled Automated Newscast Director to join their team.

If you have a strong leadership background both inside and outside the control room, this might be the perfect opportunity for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide daily onair production direction for WBZ-TV/WSBK-TV/CBSN programming.
• Collaborate with editorial staff to prepare broadcasts through automation protocols and technical infrastructure.
• Assume the singleoperator role in the control room, managing both editorial and technical aspects of the program.
• Supervise other crew positions such as ENG Receive and Studio Technician roles.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule that may include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience with Sony ELC systems is a must.
• Proficiency in both automated and manual configurations.
• Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with precision and attention to detail.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and problemsolving abilities.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Familiarity with video and audio servers, Chyron graphics systems, audio consoles, and robotic cameras.
• Proficient in computer skills and iNews.
• Demonstrated experience as a newscast director.
