This National Guard position is for a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), Position Description Number
D2524000 and is part of the KS Joint Forces Headquarters, National Guard.

Duties

An
IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), GS , provides auditing to ensure secure operations of the network enclave and provide incident response actions as directed by the cybersecurity service provider.


Conducts audits of information systems compliance, to include network devices; servers; and end user devices, related to security standards, guides and application updates to enable and ensure accreditation of all systems IAW with all command, Army, and DOD security directives, policies and procedures.

Ensures that all elements are in compliance with guidance concerning accreditation of automated information systems, risk management, control of computer viruses, and other similar issues.


Reviews Army Training and Certification Tracking System, approves new user accounts, and conducts ongoing audits to ensure all privileged and user accounts comply with Army Standards.


Conducts investigation of security incidents, reports findings to leadership and remediates findings based on guidance from the cybersecurity service provider and IAW with all command, Army, and DOD security directives, policies and procedures to include: computer viruses and sanitation of highly classified information from organization.


Reviews submissions to Change Configuration Board, or other bodies proposing changes, to network or information systems and applications and makes recommendations to senior cybersecurity team lead.


Maintains an operational knowledge base of past, current and possible future threats to the security posture by attending courses, conferences, seminars, online research, and information sharing between other Cybersecurity/Information Assurance professionals.

Must anticipate the effects of new emerging technology and develop policies to control it to prevent security violations. Makes recommendations regarding policies and/or procedures to prevent or react to security concerns.

Performs other duties as assigned.
