Job Description:
The Immaculata University Music Department is committed to developing in its students an understanding and appreciation of the power and place of music in the world by maintaining music as a primary discipline among the liberal arts; by preparing students to use the power of music to teach, to heal, to worship, and to enrich the lives of all people; and by promoting the art of music as a spiritual and cultural force in society. The University is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). The Music Education program is in compliance with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).
Immaculata University invites applications for a full-time position in the Music Department. Responsibilities include courses both in the undergraduate and graduate levels in Music Education, Music Technology, and additional Music courses as assigned with instruction in Applied Music Lessons considering experience and area of performance. Additional responsibilities include student advisement, collaboration with the Education Division with music education curriculum development, and support of the university's mission and vision to scholarship and service through participation in department, university and professional activities. In addition to the demonstration of a brief music education lesson, prospective candidates should prepare two works to perform on their main instrument as a representation of their development as a professional musician. Works chosen should be of standard recital repertoire and demonstrate the candidate's level of proficiency and advanced musicianship.

Requirements:
A minimum of a Doctorate degree in Music Education (ABD considered).
A record of successful teaching experience at the elementary, middle, and/or high school level.
Existing/projected research in the field of Music Education.
The successful candidate should be a visionary leader able to continue the successful growth and development of the Music Education program into the future against ever growing challenges and competition. They should possess superior musicianship skills and be able to inspire the musical development within students throughout the undergraduate and graduate programs. They should be able to work collaboratively within the department and be active in all areas of recruitment.
