We are seeking a talented and motivated IT Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in managing our IT infrastructure and supporting our team of 300 employees. As an IT Engineer at Tulip, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our technology systems while providing exceptional technical support to our employees.

This is an onsite role based 5 days out of our HQ.

What skills do I need?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in IT engineering or a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Strong proficiency in network administration, system administration, and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Ability to support and manage a variety of IT systems (including Google Workspace, Jumpcloud, Slack, Atlassian, and more).
  • Knowledge of macOS, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of A/V, physical access management, and other office-related technologies.
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues based on urgency and business needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service-oriented mindset.

Extra points:

  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Experience with IT security practices and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security.
  • Familiarity with IT service management practices, agile and distributed IT environments
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python) to streamline IT operations.
  • Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and grow our IT infrastructure with the team, including network and cloud services, to meet the needs of our growing Somerville HQ
  • Provide technical support to employees, including troubleshooting hardware (A/V, user endpoints, etc.) and software issues, resolving connectivity problems, managing onboarding and offboarding workstreams, and assisting with software installations and upgrades.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure security and compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Help the IT team execute technical projects on our roadmap (like SSO integrations, onboarding and offboarding automation, and more)
  • Develop and maintain IT documentation, including network diagrams, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT infrastructure and support to continuously improve our systems and processes.
