We are seeking a highly motivated Actuarial Analyst to join our team and support actuarial reserve and pricing analyses to develop recommendations for executive leadership. The Actuarial Analyst I will collaborate closely with senior actuarial analysts and actuarial leadership to execute appropriate pricing and product strategies that align with organizational goals.

What does an ACTUARIAL ANALYST I do?
  • Conduct in-depth actuarial analyses of data and trends to provide recommendations for reserves adequacy and book of business pricing.
  • Understand data sources, pull, query, and aggregate data for various projects as needed.
  • Assist in data validation and creation of data reports for results analyses.
  • Provide and maintain actuarial data and tools used by key management decision-makers.
  • Research and analyze various types of data to produce rate adjustment proposals and reserve estimates.
  • Collaborate with Regional Product and Corporate Product departments on key findings and rate level indications.
  • Share and discuss rate change proposals with Product & Field Operations partners, ensuring the use of sound pricing data and actuarial principles.
  • Assist in the production and delivery of actuarial rate filing support.
  • Document assumptions, methods, sources, and considerations in an organized manner.
  • Prepare actuarial briefings with the support of senior actuarial analysts and leadership.
What is required?

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree, with preference in a quantitative analytical field such as Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Finance and Economics.
  • Successful completion of a minimum of one actuarial exam.
Experience:
  • Prior actuarial or financial analytics experience, including relevant internships, is preferred.
Other skills and abilities:
  • Basic knowledge of actuarial ratemaking principles, reserving theories, and techniques.
  • Experience collaborating on cross-functional team projects.
  • Demonstrable skills in performing mathematical calculations; strong computer skills, particularly in databases and spreadsheets (SAS VBA/SQL).
  • Familiarity with programming using R, Python, or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of effectively planning work for multiple projects.
  • Self-motivated individual able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and contribute as part of a dynamic team.
