Classification Title:
OPS HOURLY NON-SECRETARY/CLERK

Job Description:

Long term substitute hours are 7:45 – 3:15 daily. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design appropriate curriculum, instructional, and assessments with accommodations to support academic success for a diverse group of students including both striving and advanced learners.
  • Direct teaching of students with developmentally appropriate music and music learning experiences that promote music skills, performance, and knowledge.
  • Design lessons to promote student engagement through active learning, hands-on application.
  • Utilize classroom procedures that support effective teaching and learning to promote high student participation and achievement.
  • Develop a climate and culture of openness, fairness, mutual respect, support, and inquiry.
  • Work collaboratively with the K-12 Performing Arts department.
  • Create and administer formal and informal assessments to maximize student achievement and modify instructional strategies as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records as required by law and administrative regulation.
  • Engage in continued professional learning opportunities.
  • Prepare students for extracurricular, and/or community performances.
  • Leadership responsibilities for extracurricular and/or community performance(s).
  • Communicate effectively with administrators, parents, and teaching colleagues regarding scheduling, rehearsals, upcoming performances, and students' academic progress.
  • Manage assignment and care of equipment in coordination with other members of the performing arts faculty.

Minimum Requirements:
  • AA Degree required
  • FDLE Level II Criminal Background Check required


Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree & teaching experience
