As a Senior Manager of the Oracle Life Sciences development organization, you will lead a motivated, collaborative team of top-notch technical talent to release, maintain, and support our customers. Ideal candidates should have technical depth, architectural know-how, cloud software delivery experience, strong people and process management skills and an ability to dive deep into the projects you manage.   • Lead a team whose mission is to create/manage a set of highly performant, scalable, and reliable services as part of a large, distributed cloud-based application.
  • Understand and be able to communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service(s) you own.
  • Responsible for delivering new product features from design through implementation, deployment and operational monitoring.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to develop robust and cohesive technical solutions that span across services
  • Create effective project plans with product leadership and your technical team
  • Own and respond to customer incidents within the agreed-upon SLAs
  • Identify and retain top software engineering talent

Desired Skills and Experience

  • B.S. or equivalent degree in Computer Science.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in the industry.
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, etc.
  • Strong background in Java enterprise development including Microservice architecture and RESTful web services.
  • Experience with large-scale deployments and use of the Java SE platform.
  • Experience with operational monitoring, troubleshooting, and remediation of zero downtime cloud-based application.
  • Hands-on ability to architect, design, and oversee development & implementation of features
  • Demonstrated expertise in delivering software releases on time and on budget
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences including senior leadership
  • Results driven; thrives in a development environment that is agile and collaborative, even when faced with ambiguity and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, recruit and retain very strong engineering talent

US: Hiring Range: from $84,700 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
