SUMMARY: My client is seeking an experienced Regulatory Specialist that will be responsible for global regulatory compliance reporting to the Senior Regulatory Manager. You will be part of a team responsible for Global Compliance of company products. This will include, but not limited to, SDS/Label Creation, supporting customer needs, (e.g. WERCS), supporting new product introduction process, and ensuring compliance with country and state level regulatory requirements. The role is based in their Torrance, CA headquarters but remote candidates will be considered if their skills and experience are a strong match for their needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Determine formula level regulatory classification, packaging classification, and labeling requirements for the US market.Collaborate with the Product Development team in New Product Introductions (NPI) or reformulation efforts to ensure compliance considerations are included in the formula development.Determine regulatory status of ingredients and marketing claims to be used in Company products and provide compliance guidance to the Product Development team.Support registration projects, as necessary, for retail customers (i.e. WERCS).Manage and own formula information in a software database to include ensuring that all formula changes and new formulas are entered and maintained in an accurate and timely manner.Develop Safety Data Sheets in collaboration with Product Development, Legal, Marketing, Procurement, Contract Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance departmentsMaintain document repository for product dossiers, test results, certifications, and other related material, ensuring that all required and requested product information documents are kept compliant, up-to-date, and accessible.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Regulatory Science, or related field.3-6 years' experience related to compliance in the CPG, automotive, beauty, food, or supplement industries.Strong understanding of Prop 65, FHSA, Right to Know laws, and other major U.S. regulatory requirements.Familiarity with North American and European regulatory compliance regulations (CCCR, Health Canada, REACH and others).High learning aptitude and adaptability with systems and regulatory landscape.Highly organized, efficient, and self-motivated.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.Ability to work under pressure and with cross-functional teams.Proficiency managing multiple projects simultaneously.
