\t Alta Interns will receive:

\tEligibility\r
\r
\tTo qualify for the intern program, students must: \r
\r
\t\r
\t\tHave the right to work in the U.S.\r
\t\r
\t\tHave daytime 20 hours a week and be in their last 6 months of the student program.\r
\t\r
\t\tBe willing to accept the internship for at least a 12-week period\r
\t\r
\t\tAchieve and maintain at least a cumulative 2.8 grade-point average through your last semester prior to the starting date of the intern period.\r
\t\r
\t\tPass a physical & drug screen and background check.\r
\r
\r
\tWe regard interns as professionals rather than students and give you challenging assignments to provide exposure to various career options within your discipline of study.\r

\tSelection Process\r
\r
\tInterns are evaluated and selected based upon: \r
\r
\t\r
\t\tAcademic performance\r
\t\r
\t\tExperience from high school automotive classes, military training or exhibit a mechanical aptitude\r
\t\r
\t\tReferences from your school\r
\t\r
\t\tDemonstrated leadership potential\r
\t\r
\t\tInterest in a career in Construction Equipment Industry\r
\t\r
\t\tCommunication skills\r
\t\r
\t\tMust meet initial mechanical and aptitude testing requirements\r
\r
\r
\tIntern candidates are interviewed during on-campus interviews. In some cases, a phone interview and a second in person interview may take place between the student and hiring manager before an offer is given.\r

\t\t3 months internship that includes a comprehensive program - learn and earn\r
\t\r
\t\tGain hands-on in the shop experience while working with one of our mentors\r
\t\r
\t\tYou'll learn a solid fundamental understanding of how systems work, procedures, processes as well as safety requirements\r
\t\r
\t\tExcellent attendance and punctuality at both school and internship\r
\t\r
\t\tAbility to participate in and learn from all Volvo specific assigned technical curriculum\r
\t\r
\t\tSeeking a career path with a secure future\r
\t\r
\t\tPerforms other duties as assigned\r
\t\r
\t\tConsistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time\r
