Realty Specialist

The Realty Specialist position is located within the Office of the Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs (ASIA) , Deputy Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs Management (DASM), Office of Facilities, Property, and Safety Management (OFPSM), Branch of Real Leasing Program (RPL) and lease administration for all of Indian Affairs (IA), including the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), and encompasses twelve regions located throughout the U.S. and Alaska.

• Advises the Branch Chief of all aspects of lease and realty management and administration, including market data research, lease file management, and lease administration.
• Assists the Branch Chief in developing any policies and procedures necessary for efficient operation of the RPL program, including research and drafting of white papers, memoranda, and policies.
• Analyzes DOI policy, GSA real property and leasing policies and provides analysis to the RPL Supervisor.
• Acquires and maintains knowledge of current regulations, mandates, executive orders relative to real property and leasing.
• Processes Occupancy Agreements (OAs), including facilitating communications with regional IA offices regarding timeframes for data submissions and updated space requirements.
• Prepares non-lease space agreements involving IA offices and programs, such revocable licenses and facility use agreements.
