Job Description:

The Senior Maintenance Technician is an advanced multi-crafted (mechanical/electrical) that is focused on providing experienced equipment troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance. Additionally, the position will convey the knowledge to new associates as they learn the equipment in the plant and assist with new technician development. As breakdown troubleshooting requirements and repairs are accomplished, the Senior Shift Technician will change focus toward preventive maintenance activities and planned work activities as assigned by the planner scheduler. The Senior Maintenance Technician will take the lead on repairs, document actions and communicate to Maintenance Shift Lead.

What are we looking for?

  • 5+ years industrial maintenance experience maintaining systems on complex process and/or high-speed production equipment.
  • 2+ years in the ARK Maintenance Department.
  • Completed level 2 step up cards in 2 out of 4 maintenance areas within the ARK facility.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, testing, and repairing instrumentation devices.
  • Welding
  • Machining
  • Mechanical maintenance
  • Electrical/Electronics-install and repair (some explosion proof environments)
  • Single and 3-phase powered equipment (troubleshoot, test, and repair)
  • AC and DC control systems (troubleshoot, test, and repair)
  • AC variable speed and servo drives (troubleshoot, replace, program)
  • Operate electronic test equipment (multi-meter, meg-ohm meter, amp probe, Hart Communicator, oscilloscope, power analyser)
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree or equivalent in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering
  • Technical training from an accredited school and/or military experience in related fields
  • Be able to work 12-hour shift schedule
  • Be able to work nights
  • Be able to lift 50lbs

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Adhere to company safety and quality processes and rules
  • Provide technical skills required to systematically repair, adjust and maintain processing, filling, conveying, and packaging machinery as assigned using established maintenance reliability practices, consistent observation, repair, and follow-up of operational effectiveness.
  • Coaching and developing new maintenance associates at the site and provide Input for the new associates day reviews.
  • Provide feedback for training and development needs of new associates to the reliability managers.
  • Work and communicate with System Maintenance Technicians and the Maintenance Manager to ensure reliability improvements are implemented consistently across the site.
  • Recommend and implement changes in methods, equipment, systems and organization to assure improvements in area efficiency and that the objectives of the line/area are being met.
  • Create partnerships and clear communications with the Operations Department. Create cross-functional partnerships.
  • As needed, lead the daily CP0/CP1 reliability meetings, assuring that ongoing issues are documented, and the appropriate resources are identified.
  • Must be able to work with others in a team atmosphere
  • Other duties include participating in continuous improvement teams, working on new project activities and continuous training
