We are in search of a leader who will be responsible for developing and implementing the overall information technology (IT) strategy of the organization. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in driving business growth and enhancing operational efficiency through the effective use of technology. They will have a successful track record in developing and mentoring a high-performing team of IT specialists.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Strategic Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement IT strategy aligned with company objectives.
  • Business Applications: Oversee current business applications, identify gaps, and endorse or implement new tools.
  • Technical Infrastructure: Oversee current IT infrastructure and act on identified recommendations.
  • IT Processes and Organization: Manage service continuity, disaster recovery plans, security, access management, project management, and change management activities.
  • Analytics/Data: Partner with SMEs to leverage company analytics/data.
  • Management of IT Team: Hire, train, coach, and mentor a high-performing IT team.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect company data.
  • Continuous Learning: Given the rapid pace of technological change, a willingness to continuously learn and adapt is essential for staying ahead in the IT field. This includes pursuing professional development opportunities, obtaining relevant certifications, and staying informed about industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive IT experience; at least 4 years in a leadership role. The ability to develop and execute IT strategies that support organizational objectives is vital. This includes identifying emerging technologies, assessing risks, and optimizing IT investments for maximum value. Experience in leading IT teams and managing IT operations is essential. The ability to provide strategic direction, mentorship, and guidance to a team is paramount.
  • Experience within Construction, Building Materials, and Engineering/Architectural industries preferred.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding the company's goals, objectives, and industry dynamics is crucial for aligning IT initiatives with business strategy. The Director of IT should be able to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into IT solutions.
  • Experience with cybersecurity practices and risk management. Including regulatory compliance standards and relevant regulations for safeguarding company data and mitigating legal risks.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical for collaborating with cross-functional teams, presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and fostering a culture of transparency and accountability within the IT department.
  • Change Management: Leading organizational change initiatives, such as digital transformation projects, requires strong change management skills. The Director of IT should be able to navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive the adoption of new technologies and processes.
  • Industry certifications preferred.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: The Director of IT should be adept at troubleshooting complex technical issues, resolving conflicts, and making data-driven decisions to overcome challenges and drive business success.
  • Vendor Management: Experience in negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and evaluating third-party solutions is important for optimizing IT spending and ensuring service quality.
  • Technical Expertise: A strong foundation in IT infrastructure, systems, and applications is necessary. This includes knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, cloud computing, databases, and software development methodologies.
  • Previous experience with the following systems: Customer Relationship System (CRM Salesforce), Viewpoint Vista(Accounting ERP), Time Card systems, Bluebeam and/or Adobe PDF, Smartsheet, Nvoicepay, Power BI, Zapier, Kingsway Soft, Concur Expense Management, Autodesk, Vmware, Windows Servers, Symantec Endpoint Protection, SQL Server + SSRS, Plangrid, Ring Central, MS Teams, Office 365 + Exchange, Proofpoint Email Security, Cyber Security, Endpoint Central, Service Desk Plus, AirWatch MDM, Roboform,- password manager, is preferred but not required.
