POSITION SUMMARY:

The Leadership Development & Design Intern will gain hands-on experience in the creation and editing of curriculum educational resources used by neurology professionals. This role will collaborate with the Member Leadership Programs team to assist in various aspects of online learning.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Content Development

  • Learn to translate existing curriculum resources into highly engaging and interactive eLearning content using multiple platforms and technologies.
  • Collaborate with the Member Leadership Development team to assist in planning, development and creation of online content.
  • Participate in brainstorming and idea generation for content.

Content Editing

  • Learn how to edit video content to ensure high-quality final products.
  • Develop an understanding of video editing software to trim footage, add effects, insert graphics, and enhance visual quality.
  • Assist in the assembly of created content into a cohesive and engaging story.
  • Edit content as needed within the AAN brand guidelines and review for accuracy and continuity.

Post-Production Tasks

  • Learn how to enhance accessibility by add subtitles, captions, and other relevant text elements to online content.
  • Support the team in tasks related to post-production, such as file organization, content management, and archiving.
  • Participate in user testing and support the collection and analysis of user feedback.
  • Assist in reviewing and refining visual effects and color grading.

Technical Support

  • Develop an understanding of technical aspects of online production, including file formats and compression settings.
  • Assist in troubleshooting technical issues that may arise during recording or editing processes.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with team members to contribute to creative discussions and project planning.
  • Collaborate with other teams to understand the content needs and objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • Currently enrolled in an educational institution as a student pursuing the fulfillment of a degree in Communications, Education, Human Resources, Technical Writing, Media Production or related field is required.

Experience:

  • Experience using Microsoft office Suite including Outlook, Word, PPT, and Excel is required.
  • Familiarity with video recording and editing software such as Riverside, Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe AfterEffects is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Articulate Rise or similar authoring platforms is preferred.
  • Experience with Vyond or similar animation platform is preferred.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Commitment to accessibility for learners is required.
  • Enthusiasm for content creation and a desire to learn and develop new skills is required
  • Interest in learning and development and/or curriculum development is required
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work is required
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is required

ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION:

FLSA Classification: Non-exempt

Travel Requirements: Travel not required

Location: Minneapolis, MN and is identified as hybrid (required to work in the office with the ability to work remotely part of the week)

Schedule: Monday-Friday flexible schedule 19 hours per week

Physical Requirements: Standard office setting, with the ability to sit, stand, or utilize alternative seating arrangements for long periods of time as needed. Occasional use of stairs or accessibility devices. Regular use of computer and office equipment, with consideration for adaptive technologies as necessary. Lifting requirements of up to 10 lbs ., with accommodations provided for individuals with varying physical capabilities.
