Job Summary

A Data Engineer uses various methods to transform raw data into useful data systems such as create algorithms and conduct statistical analysis. Overall, you'll strive for efficiency by aligning data systems with business goals.

To succeed in this data engineering position, this person should have strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data from different sources. Data engineer skills also include familiarity with several programming languages and knowledge of machine learning methods.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible of data modeling and data preparation into a format that can be easily analyzed
  • Develop and maintain, semantic models and data pipelines for data generation and consumption
  • Work closely with data analysts and data scientists and are highly involved in architecting data solutions
  • Collaborates with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility, and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization. Extracting and evaluating data from multiple internal databases
  • Responsible of operation & maintenance of reports & KPIs
  • Able to design/develop industry-leading data visualizations based on an understanding of common and more fine-grained data visualization/representation challenges, data problems, and eventually, relating to the use cases of our current/prospective customers.
  • Understands the tradeoffs between graphics paradigms and speaking multiple visualization grammars, and how they relate to the data we have and that we're trying to represent.
  • Cultivate your knowledge and help educate our team in your areas of expertise.
  • Bring a critical eye to our work, and patience to refine it with us until we meet the required your standards.
  • Create analytics reports and dashboards to provide valuable, relevant business insights for different stakeholders.
  • Clean and transform data using Power BI's Query Editor to prepare ETL processes to optimize reporting datasets.
  • Create data models and tables within Power BI to support efficient, optimized data warehousing and reporting workflows.
  • Additional projects or tasks as assigned by my manager.

Qualifications
  • B.S or BA in computer science, data science or related.
  • 4+ years of experience as SQL developer. Desirable: Snowflake, HANA & Oracle desired
  • 3+ years ETL (SQL, Informatica)
  • 1+ years Azure (focused on data)
  • Data ingestion knowledge (Data integration from multiple databases – files, excel, MS SQL, Oracle, Snowflake, SAP ECC, ERPs,) structured and non-structured data.
  • Data integration & transformation (Data Pipelines) Python, ETLs
  • Data Modeling (Datawarehouse, Data Mart, Data HUB). Data uploading
  • Data wrangling, cleansing and data quality.
  • Data preparation
  • Data visualization

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Working Conditions

Capable of working in an open concept office environment & sometimes remote environment.

Physical Requirements

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
