The Stem Cell Institute in Miami is in search of a full-time Research Associate 1. As a Research Associate 1, SOM, you will support research initiatives for the assigned division by conducting laboratory experiments for research projects. The primary aim is to enhance your knowledge through continuous education, training, and research.

ROLES

  • Understand and interpret research protocols and procedures
  • Contribute to significant research publications
  • Stay updated on relevant research findings
  • Ensure adherence to good research practices
  • Stay informed on current publications related to research methods and developments
  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate specimens or tissue cultures
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Conduct various routine assays, tests, and studies
  • Perform calculations, collect data, and conduct statistical analysis of laboratory results
  • Follow University and unit-level policies and procedures

This list of responsibilities may evolve to encompass additional tasks as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field

Certification and Licensing:

Not Applicable

Experience:

Preferred experience in a laboratory setting

DEPARTMENT NOTES

Specific Department Functions

  • Conduct DNA and RNA extractions, cloning, PCR, Western blots, In Situ Hybridization, histology, immunostaining, and cell culture tasks
  • Ensure compliance with lab safety and IACUC protocols
  • Regular meetings with the PI to discuss research status
  • Maintain accurate data records and assist in data analysis for publications
  • Assigned tasks in bench and animal work, contribution to basic research, and education advancement
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
