Develops an orientation plan for each new employee specific to their skills and the needs of the unit and agency.

Facilitates employee participation for in-services and continuing education by scheduling staff to attend development programs, resulting in a more qualified and competent staff.

Conducts meetings and conferences with subordinates and staff to explain work requirements, methods and procedures as needed and answers technical questions regarding work assignments.

Participates in hospital committees such as the Transports, Blood Utilization, Domestic Violence, Nurse Executive Team, Emergency/Ambulatory Care, and Electronic Health Records.

Evaluates employee's performance yearly; develops work improvement process as needed and recommends employee awards/recognition.
