Description:Utilizes computational methods and tools in specialized field (e.g., strength of metallic and composite structures, finite element analysis, fatigue and damage tolerance, etc.).
Performs pre-dimensioning computations through analytical or digital methods, assessing data credibility and results.
Participates in creating measurement plans for tests and conducts result analysis.
Integral in the shaping of the product design to ensure all structural requirements are achieved to meet performance specifications.
Develops and performs structural analysis and writes supporting documentation to meet requirements including
structural test plans, supports test execution, and documents test results and supporting analysis to verify the design.
Communicates complex analysis details with various stakeholders: program leadership, other engineering functions, and external suppliers.
Will be considered the analysis POC for the Accelerated Materials & Product Development (AMPD) group.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience building and analyzing detailed finite element models using industry standard software: Abaqus, Nastran/Patran, FEMAP, NX etc.
Experience performing analysis of structures made from a variety of materials: composites, metals, bolted and bonded joints.
Experience performing traditional hand analysis to verify FEMs and assist in rapid trade studies.
Experience developing analysis reports and presenting results.
Ability to obtain a DOD Security Clearance
Minimum of 10 year's of applicable experience
Desired Skills:
Experience designing/analyzing filament wound structures, including integrally wound domes.
PHS&T shock and vibration analysis experience.
Prior experience with product design review milestones: SRR, PDR, CDR.
Previous structural test planning and data correlation experience.
Comfortable with dynamic working environment with multiple parallel programs and the ability to manage priorities accordingly.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Remote Telework:
The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
