SLUCare Physician Group, which is part of SSM Health, is looking for individuals to join their team as Hospitalist Physician Assistants at Saint Louis University Hospital.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with patients' primary care physicians to gather important medical history details and to coordinate care with other providers
- Providing clinical assistance to patients in partnership with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Conducting diagnostic tests like blood work or urinalysis to monitor patient well-being and identify disease progression
- Performing physical examinations and carrying out medical procedures, including administering injections and collecting blood samples
- Teaching patients about their diagnosis, treatment plan, and any necessary lifestyle adjustments to enhance their well-being
- Coordinating with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure timely and suitable care for patients
- Conducting diagnostic evaluations such as x-rays, MRI scans, ultrasound scans, etc., to assess injuries or illnesses
- Providing patients with information about their condition, treatment alternatives, and post-treatment care strategies
- Offering emotional support to patients and their loved ones during challenging periods like sickness or injury
