Job Summary
The faculty position entails teaching a variety of nursing courses, including clinical. In addition, faculty will meet the following criteria:

Excellent teaching skills.
Ability to perform quality applied, basic, or instructional research.
Strong clinical practice and decision making skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate quality teaching and serve as a role model for students and peers.
Record current and comprehensive data on student records.
Participates in evaluation processes involving self, students, peers, and administration.
Participates in test reviews.
Creates and/or revises syllabi as needed
Is active in professional and community service organizations.
Assists in all areas of program improvement, including participation in curriculum evaluation and revision
Participates in recruitment of faculty and students, as needed.
Accepts responsibility for personal and professional growth, regarding teaching assignments and clinical expertise.
Serves as an active member and/or chair of University, College, and School committees.
Meets College and University expectations for teaching, service, and scholarly activity.
Utilizes University resources effectively.
Maintains rapport with clinical affiliates, University, and community-at-large.
Communicates with the administration of the School, College, and University about academic matters.
Follows chain of command through Lead Teacher, Associate Director, and Director.

Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Nursing, and enrolled in a Master's Program; Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Professional nursing experience relevant to fundamentals and beginning medical-surgical nursing.
RN licensure or eligibility for RN licensure in Louisiana
Eligibility to hold a faculty position in Louisiana
