Atrium Health Center for Digestive Health is actively seeking a
full-time academic Gastroenterologist to join an established practice in the
Charlotte, NC area.



Candidate Profile:

  • MD or DO and board certification in Gastroenterology required.
  • Prior clinical educator experience at an academic medical center required, 3+ years preferred.
  • Prior or active involvement in research and scholarship preferred.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

About this opportunity:

  • Enhancing our patient care and teaching missions as a full-time GI clinician-educator at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank.
  • The Section of Gastroenterology has excellent clinical and educational programs related to general gastroenterology, advanced endoscopy, pancreatobiliary diseases, motility disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, and liver disease and transplantation.
  • The successful candidate will rotate on the inpatient GI consultation teaching service and inpatient endoscopy services performed at Carolinas Medical Center monthly.
  • Participate in outpatient GI consultation and endoscopy services delivered at Carolinas Medical Center, affiliated ambulatory surgery centers, and the GI Fellows Clinic.
  • Opportunities for teaching Gastroenterology Fellows in diverse clinical settings and mentoring them in clinical research and other scholarly pursuits.
  • Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest and commitment to the teaching of medical students, residents, and GI fellows. They should also have an interest in teaching fellows' endoscopy.
