Salary Range$16.07-$20.49Job Posting End Date - Applications will no longer be accepted starting Job SummaryPerforms hand watering, fertilizing, pruning, and hand weeding along with other basic landscape and maintenance tasks. Primary duties include driving throughout Downtown Orlando and hand watering trees, planter pots, planter boxes, and other landscape areas while removing weed growth, trash, and other landscape debris from planting areas. Employees assigned to this job must operate a City of Orlando vehicle (truck) in addition to a watering tank mounted to a trailer, small gas-powered water pumps, spray nozzles, and other small hand tools and equipment. Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to forty pounds (40 lbs). Work is assigned by the Downtown Maintenance Program crew leads and supervisors and is inspected for quality and productivity.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Florida Driver's License and home phone or cell phone required. Ability to read, write, and follow instructions required. Prior landscape maintenance experience desired.

  • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
  • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
  • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
  • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
