Main Purpose of Job

The Training and Development Specialist will work with the Training Manager in all aspects of developing and operating the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) training program for all State of Maryland agencies that use the software system to maintain their facilities. This includes teaching, curriculum design and development, assessment, and the writing of training publications such as user guides and tutorials.\r

POSITION DUTIES

\r
Duties for this position\r
include but are not limited to:\r
\r
\r
- Teaching: Will be responsible for conducting live,\r
'real-time' training sessions, both in-person and virtual (i.e., via\r
the Google Meets app), group and one-on-one. Will also be responsible for\r
developing and leading asynchronous online training using a Learning Management\r
System (LMS).�\r
\r
\r
- Curriculum development:\r
Will work with the Training Manager in determining client needs and developing\r
modules and/or courses designed to equip clients with the necessary knowledge and\r
skills to meet these needs.��\r
\r
\r
- Evaluation/Assessment:\r
Will work with the Training Manager in designing and developing evaluation\r
tools (e.g., quizzes and exams), both written and practical applications, to\r
assess the level of the trainees' knowledge and skills, as well as the\r
effectiveness of the training.��\r
\r
\r
- Writing: Will be\r
responsible for composing training publications such as manuals, user guides\r
and tutorials as supplements to the training sessions, which will include\r
creating PowerPoint (or Google Slides) slide presentations to be used in\r
conjunction with training sessions.��\r
\r
\r
- Administrative duties:\r
Will be responsible for creating and maintaining attendance records,\r
transcripts, grading quizzes and exams, recording results, and creating and\r
issuing certificates of completion.\r
\r
\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:���Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r
Experience: Two years of administrative staff or professional work. \r
Notes:\r
1. Candidates may substitute 30�credit hours from an accredited college or university for�one�year of the required experience.\r
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree�from a college or university for the required experience.\r
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included�regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required�experience. \r

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
