KAMTEK is a premier Tier 1, automotive manufacturing supplier that specializes in Class "A" Stamping, Assembly and High Pressure Die Casting that produces Body-side and Door Openings, Roofs, Floor Pans, Wheelhouses, Large Welded Assemblies, Doors, Fenders, Hoods, Lift-gates, Aluminum Shock Towers, and Aluminum Rear Rails. About the Role

The Material Handler is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing all material control related activities in his/her area. Materials Team Leader will support the Material Handlers by providing guidance and tools they need in order to be safe and productive. Responsible for supporting safety, quality, and productivity while adhering to KAMTEK's plant standards and upholding the Magna Employee's Charter.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Monitoring Inventory levels (Min/Max)
  2. Performing Cycle counts per cycle count schedule and as needed or requested
  3. Receiving of purchased parts and materials into the ERP system
  4. Placing material in its assigned location(s)
  5. Ensuring material is only placed in its assigned locations and placed according to the area layout
  6. Pulling/Staging/Delivering material as required to support production
  7. Maintain First In, First Out inventory (FIFO) on all material
  8. Preparing loads for shipment per direction or documentation
  9. Actively participating in all day-to-day activities in Materials Department (including but not limited to: 5S, housekeeping, safety programs, training courses, startup and other meetings as requested)
  10. Must utilize bar code scanners for receiving shipping, transfers and cycle counting
  11. Meeting all safety and quality standards

  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently to perform duties with little supervision.
  • Ability to communicate with team members on all shifts and possess good mathematical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adequately perform all above job requirements within the timeframe allotted to support the customer needs
Your preferred qualifications

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required.

TECHNICAL TRAINING: Successfully obtain KAMTEK forklift license.

OTHER: Safe work practices, general knowledge of mechanical operations.

WORK EXPERIENCE

WHAT TYPES? Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Forklift operation and product delivery.

HOW MUCH? 6-12 months.
