What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, the typical assignments include:


Has experience working with policy issues pertaining to federal emergency disaster preparedness for intentional and/or unintentional crises, disasters, other humanitarian emergencies, hazards, or natural and man-made technologicaldisasters.

Experience and a working knowledge relative to non-disaster grant program funding for state and local governments.
Providing technical assistance to a variety of government partners.
Planning, coordinating, conducting and evaluating emergency preparedness programs that are aligned with currentpreparedness policies, best practices, and doctrine.

Preparing information papers and briefings for senior officials and partners, involving compiling, reconciling andcorrelating data from a variety of sources with different requirements and formats where data must be carefully cross-checked, analyzed, and interpreted to ensure accuracy.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
