Job Description

We are looking for a Software Developer to develop and maintain software to meet project specifications. This position will be a full-time, hybrid contract.

What You'll Do

  • Converts project specifications, using flowcharts and diagrams, into sequence of detailed instructions and logical steps; and codes language that can be processed by computer, applying knowledge of computer programming techniques and computer languages
  • Prepares or receives flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate sequence of steps program must follow and to describe logical operations involved in program
  • Develops, designs, and test's logical structure for solving problems by computers
  • Updates, repairs, modifies, and expands existing program functionalities
  • Analyzes, reviews, and rewrites programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt program to new requirements
  • Analyzes workflow chart and diagram, applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic
  • Designs computer terminal screen displays to accomplish goals of user request
  • Confers with supervisor and representatives of departments concerned with program to resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, public administration, management information systems or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of prior experience as a software developer
  • Experience with Java, NetBeans, Jira, Oracle Database, IBM Jazz
  • Experience managing multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office, or to other offices to attend meetings, etc.
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitors
