Photography Teacher

Summary description:

Green Acres School is seeking a part-time photography teacher who is imaginative, creative, and versatile and has experience in teaching black and white analog photography techniques, including darkroom printing, as well as teaching digital photography. In addition to teaching, this person will be responsible for overseeing the equipment, supplies, and budget associated with a darkroom and digital photo lab. The position requires knowledge of alternative photography methods, the history of photography, and contemporary trends in the medium. The teacher should be passionate about and have experience with exploring social justice through the arts.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience using and instructing with digital and analog cameras
• Exposure to operating and maintaining a dark room
• Understanding and familiarity with best practices to lead a group critiques of student work
• Teaching and using Adobe Creative Cloud and Photoshop
• Must enjoy working with middle school students Desirable qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree; master's preferred
  • Experience in a similar position
