In this vital role you will be a cross-functional leader with experience in technology alliance management and an individual who creates value through the effective leadership and management of innovation opportunities with key technology partners. The Technology Strategy and Innovation Senior Manager will report directly to the Executive Director, Technology Strategy & Innovation within the Technology Innovation Lab.

Key responsibilities include:

Supports key technology partnerships, including governance, opportunity portfolio, and pull-through execution of key innovationIdentifies, understands, and ensures mechanisms are in place to manage differences between Amgen and partner (e.g. on partnership strategy, operating model, processes, relative program prioritization, risk tolerance, norms, etc.)Ensures effectiveness and efficiency of partnership governanceEnsures the Amgen team understands and is planning for partnership obligations including contractual commitments and key partnership deliverablesEnsures Amgen decision making is informed by contract terms with partner, partners point of view, and any events that could alter partnership valueIdentifies and drives resolution of key partnership risks and issuesEstablishes credibility, trust, and respect throughout Amgen and with our partnersApplies multi-functional knowledge and business insight to engage with scientific and business leaders across AmgenDevelop Best Practices for Amgens technology and other healthcare ecosystem alliancesWinWhat we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The technology strategy professional we seek is a curious mind with these qualifications. Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree and 2 years of Business Development and/or Alliance Management experienceOr Masters degree and 4years of Business Development and/or Alliance Management experienceOr Bachelors degree and 6 years of Business Development and/or Alliance Management experienceOr Associates degree and 10 years of Business Development and/or Alliance Management experienceOr High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Business Development and/or Alliance Management experience Preferred Qualifications:Solid understanding of AI and other technologies within Operations and ManufacturingSolid understanding of AI technology landscape and Big Tech (e.g. AWS, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Alphabet, etc.) innovation for life sciencesExperience building and managing partnerships with internal and external partners, including multi-party innovation ecosystemsExperience with solution-oriented negotiations and problem solvingDemonstrated ability to engage with business leaders from across the organization to drive decisionsExperience interpreting and applying contractual terms to manage a business relationshipExperience in business development with licensing agreements and/or mergers & acquisitionsAbility to interface and influence behaviors and outcomes at all levels both internally and with a partnerAbility to clearly and effectively present information formally and informallyStrong emotional intelligence coupled with refined interpersonal and relationship management skillsStrong project management and facilitation skillsPassionately curious, proactive, and takes initiativeWhat you can expect of us As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for our teammates professional and personal growth and well-being. The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
