The RN performs pre-surgical nursing assessments and provides education to the patient prior to admission at the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
The RN assesses and evaluates the care needs of the patient, requests necessary pre-surgical clearances and diagnostics, and communicates the patient's plan of care to the ASC.
Hourly pay:

Responsibilities
Work with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout their surgical experience.
Assist in patient education during the pre-admission phase of their surgical experience at the Center.
Assist in assuring that the proper supplies, instruments and equipment are available for the procedure.
Document appropriately the pre-surgical assessment and any care needs required by the patient on the day of service.
Continue education to meet State requirements and keep current with health care.
Display professionalism at work and in the community as a representative of the Center.
Take an active role on committees within the department.
Identifies actual and potential risk to patients and others and takes action to minimize or eliminate risk and maximize safety.
Education/ExperienceGraduation from an accredited school of nursing
Current State licensure and CPR, ACLS and PALS accreditation
Two years of circulating in orthopedics experience is preferred.

Work may be performed in an office and clinical environment. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is required to sit for long periods of time, stand and walk, bend and stretch. Use of telephone and computer is required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds. May requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
