Description

Reporting to the Associate Director of Campus Operations, the Warehouse Worker is responsible for various warehouse tasks. Hours may be seasonally adjusted. Must be available for occasional warehouse & custodial overtime assignments.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Unloads and receives Plant Department MRO deliveries.
  • Utilizes warehouse computer inventory systems to track material and produce reports.
  • Creates pick tickets and fills orders.
  • Coordinates office supply orders with customers.
  • Assists Director in coordinating campus furniture deliveries and set-ups.
  • Performs cycle counts and inventory reconciliation to ensure accurate inventory counts.
  • Breaks-down deliveries and stack/wrap pallets.
  • Files manifests and completion of sales orders.
  • Preforms daily routine inspections of warehouse material handling equipment.
  • Always maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and storage areas neat and organized.
  • Performs snow removal duties as needed.
  • Performs other related warehouse and custodial duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Four years of commercial warehouse experience required.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Experience operating industry-standard warehouse material handling equipment.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend and remain in compliance with all written warehouse work policies and have a good knowledge of PPE and safety procedures.
  • Must possess a good working knowledge of a wide array of standard MRO parts and materials.
  • Familiar with standard inventory controls, processes, and handling of equipment.
  • Must possess excellent organizational, telephone and customer service skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret Safety Data Sheets.

Salary/Salary Range

$38.62 per hour

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
