Prepares sterile table for each procedure assuring required instruments are available to the physicians including suture, blades, cautery, suction, implants, medication and solutions.

Assists in draping the surgical field to ensure correct exposure of operative site with respect to each patient's right to privacy, dignity, safety and comfort.

Provides a quiet environment for the surgical patients. Assists the surgeon when she/he does not have an assistant. Correctly identifies items on back table. Applies basic and current knowledge of surgical instruments for a proficient performance of assigned functions.

Experience:
Operating Room Technologist experience preferred

Education:

Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program and certified through National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) within one year of hire date.


Special Skills:
Requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Basic computer knowledge and skills required.

Licensure & Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Certified through National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) within one year of hire date. Surgical Technologists hired prior to 10/15/2014 are not required to have a CST certification.
