The town of Wales, Massachusetts, seeks a qualified professional to fill the full-time (40 hours per week) position of DPW Director.
Appointed by and serving under the direction of the Board of Selectmen, the Director performs complex supervisory, administrative and professional work in planning, organizing, directing and supervising various public works functions including, but not limited to, the maintenance of highways, municipal and rural roads, rights of way, parks, recreation facilities and playgrounds, municipal and school grounds, municipal buildings and dams, cemeteries, and fleet maintenance.
Administrative leadership responsibility includes budget development and forecasting, resource allocation, policy development and implementation, managing service objectives, and staffing.The Director is responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her direction and control.
