This position is located in the Kayenta Service Unit, Division of Nursing Services, Inpatient Unit, Kayenta, Arizona. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a support staff responsible for the prioritizing of tasks assigned under the supervision of licensed professional nursing staff utilizing universal precautions and ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment conductive to the delivery of quality nursing care in the In-Patient and Obstetrical Care Units.
Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a support staff responsible for the prioritizing of tasks assigned under the supervision of licensed professional nursing staff utilizing universal precautions and ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment conducive to the delivery of quality nursing care in the In-Patient and Obstetrical Care Units.
- Provides nursing care to assigned patients
- Assists in admitting and discharging patients
- Reports and observes the patient's change of condition and reactions
- Assists health care providers
- Performs waived testing
- Obtains sterile specimens from drainage system
- Sets up for oxygen administration
- Assists with cleaning, irrigating and dressing complex wounds
- Assists the licensed nursing staff/physicians with IV initiation, obtaining lab specimens
- Maintains clinical records
- Maintains a courteous and professional caring attitude
