The Chaplain (Pediatric):


Provides chaplaincy services to children and adolescents (through age 18) in the Clinical Center's medical and behavior health inpatient units, day-hospitals, and outpatient clinics.

Asesses pediatric patients' spiritual needs and develops care plans in a manner that is developmentally appropriate to the pediatric patient's age, cognitive ability and health status (inclusive of those with a terminal diagnosis).

Engages in honest and frank conversations with pediatric patients regarding their spiritual, emotional, existential and religious concerns in a manner and with vocabulary and concepts with which the patient can identify and engage.

Provides chaplaincy services to parents and siblings of pediatric patients as individuals and as a family unit.
