Vetcove is seeking an experienced and strategic Associate Counsel to join our legal team. The Associate Counsel will work closely with the Head of Legal and executive leadership to support and drive the continued growth of the company. This role requires a proactive, business-oriented attorney with a strong background in commercial contracting, tech transactions, privacy and data security laws, and corporate governance.

What you will do

  • Review and negotiate commercial contracts for all business functions,
    including: software licensing and SaaS agreements, vendor
    agreements, service level/support agreements, vendor agreements,
    service level/support agreements, distribution agreements, and other
    partnership agreements.
  • Provide legal advice to support business partners across the company,
    including working closely with the business and product team on new
    product launches.
  • Contribute to Vetcove's privacy program by negotiating data
    processing agreements and advising the business teams on
    compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, including consumer
    data collection, use and disclosures.
  • Collaborate with Vetcove's people function on employment law
    matters, including drafting employment agreements and ensuring
    compliance with state and local employment laws.
  • Partner with the internal legal team and outside counsel (as needed) to
    ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop and implement legal
    strategies that align with business goals.

You should have

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in good standing
    with at least one state bar.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant legal experience at a reputable law
    firm or in-house legal department.
  • Strong background in commercial contracting, tech transactions and
    corporate governance.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage
    multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to provide practical legal
    advice in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
