Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and mix plaster materials to achieve the desired consistency for application.
  • Direct the mixing process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Apply one or more coats of plaster to surfaces using hand tools or mechanical spray equipment.
  • Utilise techniques to ensure a smooth and even finish on walls and ceilings.
  • Pour liquid plaster into moulds to create ornamental plasterwork.
  • Ensure precision and attention to detail in the casting process to achieve the desired decorative effects.
  • Measure and cut plaster board according to specified dimensions.
  • Install and secure plaster board to walls and ceilings, following architectural plans or project requirements.
  • Cover and seal joints between plaster boards to create a seamless appearance.
  • Finish surfaces to achieve a uniform and aesthetically pleasing texture.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Use tools such as lines, spirit levels, and straight edges to verify surface levels and alignment.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines throughout the plastering process.
  • Keep work areas clean and organised to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals, including architects and contractors, to understand project requirements.
  • Provide updates on progress and communicate any challenges or deviations from plans.

QUALIFICATION:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or above

Skills:

  • Knowledge of plastering techniques, materials, and tools.
  • Ability to interpret and work from architectural plans.
  • Attention to detail and precision in plaster application.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks.

EXPERIENCE
Prospective employee should have at least one year practical experience in the relevant field.
