Behavior Interventionist

Brandeis Marin has a current opening for a behavior interventionist to provide 1:1 behavioral support to designated students with demonstrated/documented needs.

The Behavior Interventionist will:

  • Provide intensive behavioral intervention to designated students in a variety of educational settings, including classroom and community settings, as directed by a supervisor or other specialist.
  • Follow documented therapy plans for intensive behavioral treatment.
  • Provide student(s) with extra assistance during academic instruction.
  • Document student progress and behavioral data and assist with informal documentation.
  • Assist instructional personnel with the development and implementation of students' behavioral and reinforcement strategies.
  • Care for students' physical and emotional health and safety.
  • Help students to integrate socially.
  • Work with teachers, the student support team (SST), parents, and outside professionals to create and update student's plans and goals as necessary.
  • Provide behavioral updates for IEPs of assigned cases and attend/present at IEP meetings.
  • Collaborate with staff as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in developing Behavior Plans for designated students.
  • Support teachers in managing behavior in the classroom/yard as needed (secondary to support of behaviorist's primary charge(s)).
  • Follow all school policies.
  • Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications include:
    • A Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
    • Experience working with students with special needs, including ADHD and autism
    • Demonstrated contributions to a positive school environment
    • Experience working with data to improve student learning outcomes
    • Commitment to project-based learning and interdisciplinary education
    • Experience with technology, including online resources
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and other support professionals
    • Proven record of successful teaching and classroom management
    • Familiarity/comfort with Jewish values, culture, and education is a plus Working environment and physical demands
