Job Description:We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Buyer and Purchasing Manager to support product and commodity purchasing for our site. Your primary responsibilities will include vendor research and selection, maintaining professional relationships with vendors and internal partners, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.Key Responsibilities:
  • Support product and commodity purchasing under the guidance of the Senior Buyer and Purchasing Manager.
  • Perform vendor research and selection to enhance cost efficiency and boost delivery times.
  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors and internal partners.
  • Contact vendors for the status of orders and communicate any changes promptly.
  • Enter orders into the ERP system and verify entries made by others as needed.
  • Utilize internal systems to update Engineering changes to Bill of Materials and customer/vendor information as required.
  • Draft correspondence frequently and communicate with suppliers via phone.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel and Outlook.
  • Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Prior experience in customer service roles is preferred.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive approach.
