How will you make an impact in this role?We are building the Modernized Accounts Receivable System (MARS), responsible for managing the receivables for all American Express Card and Non-Card products. This is a large effort to build a brand-new global Accounts Receivable platform that transforms many aspects of work at American Express across technology and business.We are building the platform using an Event Sourcing, Microservice architecture. Work closely with product managers and product ownersServe as a bridge between product and engineering; able to digest business requirements and transform them into technical user stories and clearly communicate these requirements to various stakeholders and contributorsWork closely with a team of engineers to design, build, test and deploy.Coach, Mentor and Develop engineers and lead a scrum teamActively participate in the various engineering forums to learn from others as well as educate others.Serve as a delegate when needed in meetings with leadership team(s)Contribute meaningfully toward the continuous improvement of platform and practices.Stays informed on the latest trends in the industry and at American Express and adopt them as neededFamiliar with Agile development methodologies.Experience with design and coding across one or more object-oriented platforms and languages.Java EE – familiarity with building reactive micro services is preferable.Knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring IntegrationDesirable to have cloud experience, especially Docker, Kubernetes and Microservice architecture.Experience with the Reactive framework such as Spring Webflux or Vert.x.Desirable to have experience with performance and monitoring tools e.g. Splunk, App Dynamics, Dynatrace, PrometheusKnowledge of automated build / continuous delivery, experience of Maven and Jenkins.Hands-on experience with application design, software development and relational and noSQL databases.Communicates effectively with Technical, Operational, and Business colleagues.Must be proactive, enthusiastic, flexible, and results driven. Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
