The Director of Intakes and Outreach of the Office of Civil Rights & Title IX will assist the University of Kansas in achieving its goals of providing an open, diverse and inclusive learning and working environment by providing appropriate and applicable response and conducting prompt, thorough, and objective investigations.
Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor of the Office of Civil Rights & Title IX, this position is responsible for managing the Office's outreach efforts, which shall include policy and compliance driven tasks and ensuring non-discrimination statements are included well as general office awareness efforts. The Director will be current on resolution agreements as well as state and federal laws that dictate such compliance driven requirements. With the AVC and Director of Investigations, the incumbent will work closely with all campuses' and affiliates' Student Affairs Offices, Faculty Affairs, DEIB offices, and Human Resource offices to maintain strong working relationships and to develop outreach opportunities. The Director will work collaboratively with other offices and community partners to develop tailored resources for students and employees of varying identities and intersectionality.
The Director of Intakes and Outreach will also assist complainants who need guidance and assistance in submitting their formal complaints to ensure the complaint is compliant and provides the accurate and appropriate information. The Director of Intakes and Outreach will work collaboratively with the OCRTIX Case Manager and Director of Investigations to ensure proper and compliant outreach is made to complainants.
The Director of Intakes and Outreach is also tasked with developing and implementing training modules relative to the University's federal and state anti-harassment and non-discrimination laws, regulations, policies, and procedures with a specific focus on sexual harassment prevention training for employees. The Director shall also be properly trained and equipped to conduct investigations or to assist with any piece of the grievance procedure if/when called upon, should they not otherwise have a conflict of interest.
