Overview

The Foreman position provides leadership and technical expertise for a solar installation crew of three to six members. The Foreman is responsible for safety, quality, customer service, and productivity and ensures the successful completion of residential and small commercial projects.

Responsibilities

Organizes, leads, and trains crew membersEffectively manages all aspects of the construction workflowMaintains project documentationDevelops a positive working dynamic within your team and with branch coworkersAnalyzes and resolves worker problems and recommend solutionsMaintains consistent customer relations throughout installationProvides feedback to managementPerforms service calls when necessary

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalentA minimum of two years of construction experience, including one year in solar installationExperience with electrical work involving wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VACValid driver's license and clean driving recordState electrical certification/license preferredAbility to perform all duties of the Installer and Lead InstallerKnowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standardsUnderstanding of relevant OSHA standardsCPR and first aid certificationsComputer skills with Microsoft Excel and WordStrong mechanical/construction abilitiesExcellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills5% travel is required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance)Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balanceAbility to climb laddersAbility to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to: excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidityAbility to frequently utilize hand functions requiring fine motor skills, including but not limited to: fine manipulation, grasping, and pinchingAbility to work within the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses and other personal protective equipmentAbility to work and maintain balance on roofs and other areas of heightAbility to work in the sun and possibly low light conditionsAbility to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without damageAbility to distinguish colors such as red, black, yellow, white, greenAbility to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces which requires kneeling and crouchingAbility to hear verbal commands and warningsAbility to work with chemicals using appropriate protections
