As a Realty Specialist, you will:

  • Provide a variety of real estate services.
Prepare land cost preliminary estimates used for planning purposes.

Participate in the public meeting process (noting landowner comments, answering questions regarding complex real estate issues, and provides support to the Project Team, etc.).

Within delegated authority, prepares estimates of value for acquisitions or to establish an estimate for damage settlements such as crop damage claims by conducting market surveys where comparable sales data may be difficult to obtain because the market may be limited or unstable or because market participants are uncooperative.


  • Plan, develop, implement, interpret policy for, and administers property management and disposal for a wide range of routine and complex real property cases, which may require significant departures from established realty practices and procedures and may include cases that have been identified as being politically sensitive.
Utilize existing document templates and established processes or creates non-standard agreements if necessary and collects payments for such use.
Investigate reports of encroachments and resolves conflicts that arise on BPA fee or easement property.

Interprets BPA's encroachment policy; coordinates with BPA engineers, maintenance, and appropriate BPA staff to determine the action BPA will take to remove, modify, or permit the use.


  • Provide a full range of real estate support to the Region.
Procure needed title and other real estate related goods and services within delegated authority.

Provide real estate support to the Region's maintenance and construction staff regarding landowner notifications, landowner issues, and providing land right information.

Ensure the Region is notified of any real estate issues/projects with potential political sensitivities or significant impacts to the public.

Provides clarification regarding BPA Realty policies and procedures.

Coordinate and direct the assignments and activities of other Real estate staff temporarily deployed to the region as a part of a large-scale project.
