Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse

Delivers fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned clients while developing technical skills. Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates care based on age-specific components.
Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomesby collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
Duties
Interventional Radiology (IR) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal care.
The focus is on individual growth and development in practice with increased levels of self-direction. Ability to formulate a plan of care based on nursing assessments.The IR RN is responsible for direct patient care, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care and identifying outcomes for patient undergoing invasive procedures in IR.
They are responsible for coordinating patient care delivery to ensure the delivery of quality care per the established standards of practice, policy, and procedure.
Provides patient education to assist the patient and/or family in understanding all phases of the invasive procedure process. Maintains knowledge of supplies and equipment used for various cases in the invasive procedures area. Performs the duties of recording, circulating, and monitoring patients in all phases of the invasive procedure.The IR RN performs hemodynamic and moderate sedation monitoring, medication administration, and provides pre-and post-care to patients undergoing invasive procedures.
Seeks guidance on how to improve care provided to patients and families. Collaborates with health care professional in planning radiology patient care interventions. Delegates elements of care to the appropriate individual based upon assessed needs, condition, and safety of the patient. The nurse brings principles and theory with limited application of critical thinking skills.
Responsible for participating within unit based and/or organizational level Shared Governance councils, utilizing clinical expertise, evidence-based practice, and knowledge to assist with finding solutions to problems or issues to improve the quality care provided to our veterans.
Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm, with on-call rotation
